Heating & Cooling Incentive
You may be eligible to receive a cash incentive for replacing your old central heating and cooling systems.
Who is Eligible?
The Heating & Cooling Incentive program is available for residents and businesses (and businesses with residential-type systems) in Ontario who have purchased and installed * eligible central heating or cooling equipment through a participating contractor.

when you purchase and install a new ENERGY STAR certified central air conditioning (CAC) system that satisfies at least a 14.5 SEER and 12 EER.

when you replace your existing furnace with the purchase and installation of a new eligible high-efficiency furnace equipped with an Electronically Commutated Motor (ECM).

AC Installation Optimization Training (mandatory)
The Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute (HRAI), on behalf of the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO), is pleased to offer the AC Installation Optimization mandatory training course* to participating contractors and technicians of the Heating & Cooling Incentive program. With this course, you’ll share and learn best practice installation to help you develop the techniques to ensure that you’re giving your customers the maximum savings from their energy-efficient heating and cooling equipment.

Become a Participating Contractor
If you’re an HVAC contractor and want to participate in the Heating & Cooling Incentive, below are the guidelines to follow:
After completion of the online application, send it to HRAI for verification along with the following documents:
Contractor Compliance will send you a welcome package with login credentials. Once you receive this package, please log in on the Contractor Compliance website, review and accept the Terms of Use.
Complete the Online Orientation
When all documents have been received your profile will be activated. As technicians licenses are validated and users complete the Online Orientation, their profiles will be activated in the system

Complete mandatory AC Installation Optimization Training.
