FAQs and Answers

  • The AffordAbility Fund delivery agent – GreenSaver, will contact you, and depending on your level of eligibility, they will either confirm address details and send a Home Energy Kit, or they will schedule an In-Home energy audit.

  • • Prior to booking the In-Home energy audit, you will need to confirm basic details such as: address, building type, ownership of home, heating type and a few other details so that GreenSaver can properly plan for the In-Home energy audit.

    • During the In-Home energy audit, you will need to show a recent utility bill (or a copy of it), and verification of income (E.g. Notice of assessment/Income Tax documents, T4, 12 months of pay stubs) for every person that is age 18, or older and who earns an income.

  • 1-2 hours

  • • The Home Energy Specialist will be conducting a walk-through audit of your home. They will provide consultation on how to maximize savings in the home, through energy saving tips and suggestions. They may also be assessing some of the appliances and insulation levels in your home. This includes taking photos and measurements to properly assess eligibility.

    • Depending on eligibility, the Home Energy Specialist may also install some Energy Saving Measures and Water Conservation Measures such as LED bulbs, power bars, low flow showerheads, and faucet aerators.

  • It is recommended that they be present, but if this is not possible, it is acceptable to have another adult present. Please notify GreenSaver if the AffordAbility Fund Trust applicant will not be present.

  • In-Home energy audits take place from Monday to Friday, between the hours of 9am and 6pm.

  • 1 certified Home Energy Specialist will be assigned to your residence. The name of the Home Energy Specialist will be given at the time of scheduling and they will have present with them, AffordAbility Fund Trust/Utility identification.

  • You would contact the AffordAbility Fund Trust delivery agent – GreenSaver, at 1-888-719-8496 ext. 244, between the hours of 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. Please provide us with at least 24-hours of notice.

  • If requested but otherwise no they won’t. A reminder call will be made a couple of business days in advance of the In-Home energy audit. Please expect the Home Energy Specialist to arrive within a 1-hour window of the scheduled audit.
